Takin' it to the Maxx

2 June 2006

On her way home from school Tuesday, Heather decided to stop by FoodMaxx to pick up some much-needed consumable goods. What she came home with was a very scrappy looking black kitten. She found him in the parking lot, mewling loudy and panting (yes, cats can pant) under an SUV. According to Weather.com it was 92° so you know it was hotter than that in the parking lot, but no one else seemed to mind the obvious distress this poor creature was in, so it was clearly up to Heather to intercede, despite the fact that we just recently farmed Karl out to my mother due to Stan’s rather less-than-subtle requests.

And so, Maxx (what else?) became the newest member of our entourage. Of course, Stan immediately resumed his protests, so, once Maxx has been to the vet to make sure nothing is massively wrong with him (seems unlikely given his general attitude and level of activity), he’ll also be going to live with his very kind and understanding grandmother and his brother Karl.

Health & happiness to Maxx.

I liked the story when ‘grandma’ told me, but seeing the pic is even better!
